Are you resting?

Are you resting today?  Oh, I know most of us are very busy on a Monday morning.   We may be busy working, taking care of our home, schooling our children, preparing our taxes and much more! However, are you resting?

The rest I am talking about is much more than a great nap or a good night's sleep.  The rest I am talking about is much more than a day off to shop or to watch movies.  I am talking about true rest; rest that only comes through Christ.  When we "rest" in Christ, we rest in His finished work of the cross, His deep and redeeming love for us and the fact that He won't let us go.  When our true identity is found in Christ, then we can find rest and peace in the middle of the storms of life.  We can know that in Christ we are enough.  We don't have to strive for importance or value, we already have it as a daughter of the King. I want to encourage you to take a minute today to let God refresh and remind you that only IN Christ you can find true rest.   Praying that our hearts can be in a state of rest today, no matter what we are busy doing!

As I am sitting here pondering this past week and the wonderful revival we had at church, I can’t help but feel overwhelmingly grateful for Jesus and His love for us. I’m rejuvenated, excited, and so incredibly thankful that I have a Savior who loves unconditionally. Sunshine and a Little Yellow Flower

Simple things in life...have you thought about them lately? This season of life that I am in right now has me all up in tears one moment and then smiling the next.  I think God has turned my emotional button up a notch...or three.  When I am in a season like this, it's hard at times to focus on the simple things in life around you.  We are faced with all kinds of life obstacles to hurdle and at times we have the giants of self-doubt and fear blocking the way.  Today, I just needed to get out and think about something else.  I needed fresh air and sunshine.  So, I decided to go to town and walk around the square.  This square is just beautiful.  It abounds in beauty of flowers, greenery, a large fountain, pretty park benches and the most prettiest courthouse.  It was a good day to stroll through, enjoy the light breeze, and soak up some Vitamin D. Shining the Light

Hello SALT sisters!  Hope you are having a great day.  By the way, I want to remind us all what SALT stands for: Sisters Abiding in Light and Truth.  When we have Jesus in our hearts, we have the light of the world living in us.   Do we always show and reflect the light of Jesus?   I certainly don't, although my desire is to do so.  There are times that I choose to listen to worries and fears over simply trusting God.  Other times, I dim the light in my heart by refusing to forgive someone or acting out in anger.  Regardless the sin, God longs for us to confess and repent and allow His light to shine in and through us again. This old world gets darker each day.  It is so important that we let the light of Jesus shine in everything we do or say.  Let's draw close to Christ today; ask Him to search our hearts and see if there is anything that might hinder His light from shining brightly to a dark hopeless world.
