Seasons

Good morning SALT sisters!  Today is the first day of Fall. (Some of you will get this post the day after)   Nonetheless, Fall is here and just like that we are entering a new season; a new season filled with new colors, new smells, and new memories.   However, as we are saying hello to Fall, we must say farewell to Summer and that's not always easy....vacation time is over....summer camp is over....swimming is over....and so forth.

This change of seasons reminds me of the change of "seasons" in my own life.   Life is full of change.  Sometimes it is hard to let go of  what we know and are comfortable with and take hold of the new and unknown.  However, God is still with us no matter what season or chapter we are in as He writes our story.  I think back about the many of seasons of my life;  the season of staying home with three little boys, the season of working outside the home and going to college at night, the season of trying to figure out who I am and what I believe, the season of being a music evangelist  traveling from city to city, and so on.  Each time things changed in my life, I experienced pains of letting go and embracing the new.  Even though it is hard sometimes, with God's grace I can let go and embrace the new.

Are you facing a new chapter today?   Are you saying goodbye to a closing chapter?  I want to encourage you.   God is still here!  In fact, He loves you and is protecting you from things you have no idea about. He is not surprised by this new season.  He has plans for you.  He has redeemed you and has set your feet on a new path.  He will love you and be with you forever!   Take heart knowing that He will NEVER leave you or forsake you.  You are not traveling alone.  As a born again Christian, you are a daughter of the Most High King! (I am talking to myself too!)    We don't have to keep looking back missing the good ole days.  We can look forward knowing our God is leading us onward and at the end of our journey here on earth, we will be with Him forever!

So whether you are in the Spring, Summer, Fall or Winter of your life, know that God is with you, using you, leading you and loving you!

Love you!
Melaina

Let God's Word encourage you today:

But the godly will flourish like palm trees
and grow strong like the cedars of Lebanon.
For they are transplanted to the Lord’s own house.Even in old age they will still produce fruit; they will remain vital and green. They will declare, “The Lord is just!  He is my rock!  There is no evil in him!”
They flourish in the courts of our God.  Psalms 92:12-15

And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.  For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn[b] among many brothers and sisters. And having chosen them, he called them to come to him. And having called them, he gave them right standing with himself. And having given them right standing, he gave them his glory. What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else?  Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own? No one—for God himself has given us right standing with himself. Who then will condemn us? No one—for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us. Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? (As the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.”)  No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.  And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.  Romans 8:28-39
