Just As You Are

God loves the REAL you...

I'm so thankful that God loves the real me despite all my flaws and mess ups.  He loves us even when we feel bad, don't look well, messy hair, no make up, a little over weight and all.  We don't have to look like a million bucks for God.  He doesn't look at our outward appearance, but instead looks inside at our hearts.  He loves you just the way you are.

There are days I just don't want to dress up, put make up on, and go outside into the real world.  Often times, I'd rather stay inside with my pj's on, no makeup with messy hair and all--and that's okay.  I think we've all had days like these. I'm comfortable that way.  I often ask my husband, "Are you okay with me not wearing make up today or doing my hair?" and he always replies, "Your beautiful just the way you are.  You don't need all that to make me love you."  Well...that just melts my heart.  This is the way Jesus looks at us too.  We don't have put on a show for God, wear name brand clothes and makeup to try and impress Him.  We just have to show up, be there, and love Him too.  Be clothed in Him, not this world or the materialistic things it offers.

It's the ultimate come-as-you-are party.   God created you--drew you--from the riches of His imaginations and out of the wealth of His love and kindness.  He loves the way you are drawn--the REAL you, all natural and unadorned. The one loved by God.

As I am sitting here pondering this past week and the wonderful revival we had at church, I can’t help but feel overwhelmingly grateful for Jesus and His love for us. I’m rejuvenated, excited, and so incredibly thankful that I have a Savior who loves unconditionally. Shining the Light

Hello SALT sisters!  Hope you are having a great day.  By the way, I want to remind us all what SALT stands for: Sisters Abiding in Light and Truth.  When we have Jesus in our hearts, we have the light of the world living in us.   Do we always show and reflect the light of Jesus?   I certainly don't, although my desire is to do so.  There are times that I choose to listen to worries and fears over simply trusting God.  Other times, I dim the light in my heart by refusing to forgive someone or acting out in anger.  Regardless the sin, God longs for us to confess and repent and allow His light to shine in and through us again. This old world gets darker each day.  It is so important that we let the light of Jesus shine in everything we do or say.  Let's draw close to Christ today; ask Him to search our hearts and see if there is anything that might hinder His light from shining brightly to a dark hopeless world. Sunshine and a Little Yellow Flower

Simple things in life...have you thought about them lately? This season of life that I am in right now has me all up in tears one moment and then smiling the next.  I think God has turned my emotional button up a notch...or three.  When I am in a season like this, it's hard at times to focus on the simple things in life around you.  We are faced with all kinds of life obstacles to hurdle and at times we have the giants of self-doubt and fear blocking the way.  Today, I just needed to get out and think about something else.  I needed fresh air and sunshine.  So, I decided to go to town and walk around the square.  This square is just beautiful.  It abounds in beauty of flowers, greenery, a large fountain, pretty park benches and the most prettiest courthouse.  It was a good day to stroll through, enjoy the light breeze, and soak up some Vitamin D.
