That Perfect Outfit

Do you ever have one of those mornings that you can't decide what to wear?  You tried on that favorite pair of pants that suddenly are too tight.  Or perhaps, you grabbed a favorite shirt only to notice there was a stain right on the front!  Or maybe you pull out an outfit and wonder if it is out of style. However, in the Bible we are instructed to wear something that never goes out of style!  Colossians. 3:12 says: Since God chose you to be the holy (set apart) people He loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.  Mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience never go out of style.  In addition to that, the Bible tells us what we should wear to bring the whole ensemble together; love.  Colossians 3:14 says: Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony.

So, this morning when you are trying to put together that "perfect outfit", don't forget what God wants us to wear!  In fact, when we "wear" love, mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience, we will be beautiful no matter what we choose out of our closets!

As I am sitting here pondering this past week and the wonderful revival we had at church, I can’t help but feel overwhelmingly grateful for Jesus and His love for us. Sunshine and a Little Yellow Flower

Simple things in life...have you thought about them lately? This season of life that I am in right now has me all up in tears one moment and then smiling the next.  I think God has turned my emotional button up a notch...or three.  When I am in a season like this, it's hard at times to focus on the simple things in life around you.  We are faced with all kinds of life obstacles to hurdle and at times we have the giants of self-doubt and fear blocking the way.  Today, I just needed to get out and think about something else.  I needed fresh air and sunshine.  So, I decided to go to town and walk around the square.  This square is just beautiful.  It abounds in beauty of flowers, greenery, a large fountain, pretty park benches and the most prettiest courthouse.  It was a good day to stroll through, enjoy the light breeze, and soak up some Vitamin D. Shining the Light

Hello SALT sisters!  Hope you are having a great day.  By the way, I want to remind us all what SALT stands for: Sisters Abiding in Light and Truth.  When we have Jesus in our hearts, we have the light of the world living in us.   Do we always show and reflect the light of Jesus?   I certainly don't, although my desire is to do so.  There are times that I choose to listen to worries and fears over simply trusting God.  Other times, I dim the light in my heart by refusing to forgive someone or acting out in anger.  Regardless the sin, God longs for us to confess and repent and allow His light to shine in and through us again. This old world gets darker each day.  It is so important that we let the light of Jesus shine in everything we do or say.  Let's draw close to Christ today; ask Him to search our hearts and see if there is anything that might hinder His light from shining brightly to a dark hopeless world.
